BONDS CLASSICS: Q&A WITH SAMARA WEAVING
Posted in: people

You may remember her as Indi Walker on Home and Away, but Samara Weaving has come a long way since her days in Summer Bay. She’s just wrapped up filming her first Hollywood blockbuster, Monster Trucks in Vancouver, and recently starred in Mystery Road alongside her famous uncle, Hugo Weaving.

As busy as the talented 22-year-old is, she was on hand to help us celebrate our 100-year anniversary with a special photo shoot featuring all the Bonds girls over the years, including Miranda Kerr, Kelly Gale, Ruby Rose and Rachael Taylor.

“It has been a dream shooting this campaign; I think this one has been my favourite,” says Samara on set in LA. “It’s been great fun hanging out with the girls and having lots of laughs.”

Although Samara is relaxing in between shots in a plush white robe and heels, the well-travelled Aussie (she’s lived in Singapore, Fiji, Indonesia, Australia and now the UK) never leaves home without her Bonds trackies. “They’re always in my suitcase,” says Samara. “And I love my Bonds sloppy joe jumpers, they’re just so comfortable and so good to hang out in!”

Check out Samara in our latest campaign below!

—-Q & A——

You came on as BONDS Youth Ambassador in 2012 and have featured in multiple campaigns since, what’s been your favourite?

I think shooting this 100-year anniversary campaign with all the Bonds girls has been my favourite. Shooting in LA is exciting, and it’s in a really beautiful studio. Actually, to be honest, they’ve all been really great, because it’s the same group of people who are so lovely to work with, it’s just been a dream. And I think most people who work with Bonds would say the same thing.

You were born in Adelaide, grew up in Singapore, Fiji & Indonesia and now live in the UK – how does Australia compare?

Whenever I come back to Australia, it still feels like home. It’s like no time has passed with  my friends and family, so I love coming home.

What are you working on now?

I’ve just finished filming in Vancouver, and before that I went back to Australia filming a small comedy series called ‘Squirrel Boys’ with some friends of mine. And now I’m in LA just doing meetings and auditions.

What 3 words come to mind when you think of BONDS?

Australian, comfortable and fun.

What’s your favourite BONDS piece?

I love the ‘Sloppy’s’,  they’re just so comfortable and so good to hang out in!
