We couldn’t think of a better location to launch our new Colour for All unisex range for tweens than Bistro Morgan, the Windsor doughnut shop run and owned by 16-year-old (yep, SIXTEEN!) Morgan Hipworth. On a warm, sunny Melbourne day we flung open the doors to free doughnuts (bespoke to Bonds!) and super shakes to celebrate the launch of our exciting new genderless range of clothing and underwear for tweens, sizes 8 to 14.
Against a neon sign backdrop – Seriously Good Doughnuts – Bonds brand manager, Samara Anderson introduced Morgan to an excited crowd, who were eager to hear the story of how he built his doughnut empire at the tender age of just 15. The seriously impressive teen wowed his young fans (and their parents) with his story of determination and drive all while maintaining a humble, down-to-earth approach to both business and school.
Following a brief Q&A session, our young guests were treated to a special DIY Doughnut workshop with the doughnut king himself, where they could customise their very own pastry treat – injectible chocolate sauce and all!
Bonds designer, Abby Foy, took the audience through the inspiration behind the range, which included creating colourful clothing and undies for all kids that shake up the traditional notions of gender and identity.
“With this range, there’s a new positive energy and a feeling of inclusivity. We wanted to celebrate this by creating a range of unisex staples, where the pieces can be worn by any gender, any identity. We want Colour for All kids to feel free to be themselves,” said Abby.
“The product range itself is the best of Bonds. We are launching with a spectrum of Aussie Cotton tees, with the long staple yarn sourced locally and responsibly. Our Logo Signature sweats, with playfully branded hoodies and trackies. And also our super stretchy and comfortable underwear in the crop, bikini, and trunk.”
The range features Aussie cotton tees, made from the softest, homegrown cotton. Designed to make a bold statement, they add a fun colourful touch to any outfit. Inspired by Nineties styling and streetwear trends, the range also includes gender-neutral sweats, which are cosy, comfy and cool, and can be mixed and matched easily.
You can also purchase a limited edition Colour for All doughnut (pictured) exclusive to Bistro Morgan in Windsor, Melbourne until the end of January 2018. For more info, contact them here.
