FIVE MINS WITH HOME GROWN TALENT: CHARLEE FRASER
Posted in: people

Born and bred in Sydney, Charlee Fraser kick-started her modelling career at Sydney Fashion Week. Since then she has gone on to become the first indigenous model to make waves internationally hitting the catwalk for Alexander Wang, Stella McCartney, Lanvin and many more. Now she's modelling next to Cody Simpson and Aussie actress, Maia Mitchell, for our fresh new Home Grown™ tees campaign. We caught up with Charlee at the photo shoot in between camera takes...

What does being an Aussie mean to you?

My perception of a ‘true’ Australian is someone who is outgoing, active and laid back.

Where did you grow up and what was it like?

I grew up in Newcastle, NSW. It’s a coastal city two hours north of Sydney. Newcastle is made up of several beaches with a tonne of surfing, skateboarding, families, pets, and outdoor activities; not to mention we have some fairly spectacular cafes offering five-star coffees and freshly prepared food.

What’s your approach to your everyday style?

My everyday style is a combination of ‘cool-chic’.

What kind of T-shirt wearer are you?

I’m a big T-shirt supporter. I own and wear a variety of T-shirts but my favourite is the Crew tee oversized.

What’s your secret style tip?

I don't have any 'secret' style tips but within my own personal style I like to match two key pieces (e.g. jacket and handbag or belt and shoes).

What other Bonds items do you like?

One of my absolute favourite pieces is the singlet with the built in bra.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A day in the life of Charlee Fraser would be to workout in the morning, lunch with a friend, a movie date ending with dinner and dancing with friends (if I'm not busy working).

What’s it like to be able to pursue your passion on a global scale?

Being so passionate about my job as I am, there are no words to describe what it's like to be able to do what I do. I love it!

What has been a pinch-yourself moment in your life so far to date?

A 'pinch myself moment' so far to date would have to be the Victoria's Secret casting last year. Very unexpected and what a dream come true to meet the team behind it all. I definitely thought I was dreaming.
