My lead up to Christmas // By Rachael Taylor
Posted in: people
Rach-header
I’ve been in Chicago shooting Crisis for NBC. I think you guys will get to see it on TV around March next year. Here’s the poster below. I’m super proud of it! I love my job but we work like 16 hours a day. So god bless online shopping! All my Christmas presents will be bought online this year. Hey, you know you can buy Bonds online now, in the US and the UK too?! I’m a big believer in giving socks and trackies and other comfy things as gifts. Christmas time is about being as lazy as possible. So feed your loved ones until they fall into a food coma, and then whip out Bonds trackies for them to pass out in. Merry Merry!

What I want for Christmas
I want to see my Mum and Dad. Badly. But I’m not totally convinced I can get out of Chicago in time. Bah! So what I really want is a good internet connection, so I can skype them! On the upside my Mum sends me Aussie care packages. Chocolates that actually taste like chocolates! Hooray! Here are some recents! #YUM #needmore #pleasesend

My Christmas day
Typically my Mum and Dad throw a bizzaro English, Tassie, Aussie hybrid christmas. Last year my Mum made a watermelon infused cocktail which we had outside under the rotary clothes line (I am not joking. We still have one) and then we had an English style old-fashioned Turkey type deal with my grandma and grandad. I don’t know if I’ve waxed lyrical about how AWESOME TASMANIA is but indulge me for a moment. It is way awesome.
The cataract gorge in Launceston is right by my house!

Me on a boat in the Derwent! Not like a Jay-Z boat! Like a tiny little boat. Here I am trying hard not to drown!

RachelChilling at my friends cottage on Christmas day in Launceston. There was a cherry spitting contest. Truth. But this year, I’ll be having a White Christmas in America! Weeee! Chicago.
chicargoI mean, it looks great, right? Like totally great?! Like...ummmm. #ohno

SO
Here’s the upside as I see it. Christmas is a great time to take a beat, take stock of the year that was, and the year that is ahead. 2013 was my best year so far. I wrote a little web series for Bonds! Check it:
A Bonds Love Story NYC Part 1 - Lost in Translation
A Bonds Love Story NYC Part 2 - Lost in the Moment
A Bonds Love Story NYC Part 3 - Lost for Words
*OH and in the third installment you get to meet Sarah Stephens, my friend who is now an official Bonds model! Yes, that is her real body. You’re welcome Australia.

It’s okay I won’t be home for Christmas this year. I wanted to be an actor since I was teeny tiny, so I see a big gratitude opportunity regardless of the sub zero temps stateside. And my home is not going anywhere. I look forward to heading back to Tassie in March 2014. I’ll be thawing out under the rotary clothes line with a watermelon cocktail like a boss. In the meantime, send me warm summer vibes. I’m gonna need them!
Lots of love gang, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Always, RT x
