Just like the saying goes ‘it takes a village to raise a child,’ it takes a bunch of passionate and determined Aussies to raise some serious coin for cancer research. These Aussies are the fearless faces behind the Shitbox Rally, which has just completed its mammoth 2015 trip from Canberra to Townsville, raising a whopping $1.3 million for the Cancer Council.
Now in its sixth year, the Shitbox Rally brings everyday Aussies together for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure driving across the outback in “shitbox” cars, that cost no more than $1,000, to raise much-needed funds for charity.
Bonds rallied behind this year’s event by sponsoring sisters Heather and Tracey Ferrier (you can read their story here) who recently completed the trip in their Bonds-ified car affectionately named ‘Ernie’. Dressed in their ‘Queen of the Desert’ best, the sisters joined forces for the second time to take part in the Shitbox Rally, an event that’s close to their hearts.
