We Love – Aussie Flicks

Bonds We Love Valentine's Day Couples

Valentine’s Day will soon be here and we can feel the love in the air. Team Bonds really digs a great love story and here’s a round up of our favourite couples from Aussie movies.

Gail & Dave, The Sapphires (2012)

The singer and her manager fall in love! Deborah Mailman and Chris O’Dowd are fab in one of our fave movies of 2012. Special mention for the awesome singing and soundtrack.

Satine & Christian, Moulin Rouge (2001)

Okay, so the movie is set in Paris, but our Nicole is the leading lady. Who could forget the epic mashup sung on top of an elephant?

Jack & Ruby, Paperback Hero (1999)

In one of Hugh Jackman’s first lead roles he played a (rather dishy) truck driver with a secret life as a romantic novelist. He used his best mate’s girlfriend’s name (enter Claudia Karvan) and romantic chaos ensues.

Muriel & Brice, Muriel’s Wedding (1994)

You’re terrible Muriel… Well, she’s not that terrible, but she does go through a lot of ups and downs in order to find love.

Scott & Fran, Strictly Ballroom (1992)

Quite possibly one of the best Cinderella stories ever. Plus there’s dancing and a killer soundtrack AND Paul Mecurio spends half the movie in a Bonds Chesty. “If you’re lost, you can look and you will find me…”
